Each shape represents one of the Pancha Mahabhuta, or "five great elements" of nature i.e. Bhoomi (Earth), Agni (Fire), Vayu (Wind), Jala (Water) and Shunya (Aether) providing complete purification of the area where it is used. When lit, this combination along with mustard oil and the vapour of pure crystalline camphor creates upward movements of abundance, enhancing and spreading positive energy and tranquility through out the premises.
The Aakaar Vaastu Healing Lamp kit consists of a black square granite base fitted with a brass triangular and circular 2-in-1-tripod pedestal along with a camphor receptacle, a copper spiral wick holder, extra wicks, tweezers, a bottle of mustard oil and specially imported pure crystalline camphor.
This specifically designed device is helpful in removing negative energy from the surroundings where it is used by cleansing the aura. This is observed by the accumulation of black carbonized soot that collects below the camphor receptacle in a typical ‘beehive’ type of structure. With frequent usage, the surroundings will purify and the beehive structure will lessen. It is important to ensure that the flame does not touch the bottom of the camphor receptacle to be sure that the black soot formed then is genuine and not just due to incomplete combustion.
Before cleaning, the unused camphor and oil should be removed for later use. The flame must be extinguished with the tweezers and not with ones’ breathe. For safety, the lamp must be kept away from curtains, wall hangings or combustible material. It should also be kept out of reach of children. The lamp may be kept anywhere and not necessarily around the temple. It can also be used at any hour for as long as needed.
